If by life you were deceived

Don't be dismal ,don't be wild!

In the day of grief,be mild

Merry days will come,believe

Heart is living in tomorrow

Present is dejected here;

In a moment , passes sorrow;

That which passes will be dear.

I like for you to be still

I like for you to be still,it is as though you were absent,

and you hear me from far away, and my voice does not touch you.

It seems as though your eyes had flown away ,and it seems that a kiss had sealed your mouth.

As all things are filled with my soul

you emerge from the things, filled my soul.

You are like my soul, a butterfly of dream, and you are like the word Melancholy.

I like for you to be still, and you seem far away.

It sounds as though you were lamenting, a butterfly cooing like a dove.

And you hear me from far away and my voice does not touch you:

Let me come to be still in your silence.

And let me talk to you with your silence

that is bright as a lamp, simple as a ring.

You meet me, or not meet me

I'm there

No sorrow or happy

You miss me, or not miss me

The memory is there

Not coming, not going

You love me, or not love me

Love is there

Can't be added, can't be ended

You be with me, or you leave me

I lay my hand in yours

Never be aparted

Rest in my arms

Or

或者

Let me go into your mind

In silence, and in love

So quiet, and so fascinating

Song

Christina Rossetti (1830-1894)

When I amdead, my dearest,

Sing no sad songs for me;

请不要为我哀歌;

Plant thou roses at my head,

Nor shady cypress tree.

Be the green grass above me

With showers and dewdrops wet;

披带着雨水和露珠;

And it thou will, forget.

I shall not see the shadows,

I shall not feel the rain;

也不会感到甘雨;

I shall not hear the nightingale

Sing on as if in pain.

And dreaming through the twilight

That doth not rise nor set

Haply I may remember,

And haply may forget.

Goblin Market and other Poems里。

Leisure

By William Henry Davies (1870-1940)

What is this life if,full of care

We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs

And stare as long as sheep and cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,

Where squirrels hides their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,

Streams full of stars like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,

And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can

Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor to life this if, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare.

When you are old

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,

And nodding by the fire, take down this book,

And slowly read, and dream of the soft look youreyes had once,

And of their shadows deep;

回想它们昔日浓重的阴影;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,

And loved your beauty with love false or true,

But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,

And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

爱你衰老了的脸上痛苦的皱纹;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,

Murmur, a little sadly, how love fled

And paced upon the mountains overhead

And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

I Love This Land

If I were a bird?

I should sing with my husky throat:

The land which is being hitted by the storm,

The river which is always filled with our indignation,

The wind which blows violently forever,

And the most tenderness dawn which comes from the forest...

After that I died,

The feathers corrupted in the earth.

Why are the tears always in my eyes?

That’s because I love the land so much...

Hope is the thing with feathers

Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches is the words

And sings the tune without the words

And never stops at all

And sweetest in the gale is heard

And sore must be the stom

That could abash the little bird

That kept so many warm

I've heard it is the chilliest land

And on the strangest sea

Yet, never, in extremity

It adsked a crumb of me

Predestination

前缘

by Xi Murong

Should man really be reincarnated,

Had the samsara of life truly occurred.

So my love, what in prior lives could we have been?

If you were a southern girl of lotus-picking,

I could have been a lotus that your pale wrist is missing.

If you were a truant urchin,

I could have been a brand new hoodle

Slipping through your pocket and in the grass by the road,

Peeping you far off but not in the know.

If you were a monk always meditating to face the wall,

I could have been an incense in front of the hall,

Burning for a serene time to accompany you.

Even though we've thus encountered in the present life,

Always lingering is a feel that our predestination

Has not fully fulfilled, but too vague to discern

And yet to detail you.

Let It Be Forgotten

By Sarah Teasdale

Let it be forgotten,as a flower is forgotten,

Forgotten as a fire that once was singing gold.

Let it be forgotten forever and ever,

Time is a kind friend,he will make us old.

If anyone asks, say it was forgotten

Long and long go,

As a flower,as a fire,as a hushed footfall

In a long-forgotten snow.

We Have Lost Even

by Pablo Neruda

We have lost even this twilight..

No one saw us this evening hand in hand.

while the blue night dropped on the world.

I have seen from my window

the fiesta of sunset in the distant mountain tops.

Sometimes a piece of sun

burned like a coin between my hands.

I remembered you with my soul clenched

in that sadness of mine that you know.

Where were you then?

Who else was there?

Saying what?

Why will the whole of love come on me suddenly

When I am sad and feel you are far away?

The book fell that is always turned to at twilight

and my cape rolled like a hurt dog at my feet.

Always, always you recede through the evenings

towards where the twilight goes erasing statues.

I am not yours

Sara Teasdale

I am not yours, not lost in you,

not lost, although I long to be

lost as a candle lit at noon,

lost as a snowflake in the sea.

You love me, and I find you still

a spirit beautiful and bright,

yet I am I, who long to be

lost as a light is lost in light.

Oh plunge me deep in love—put out

my senses, leave me deaf and blind,

swept by the tempest of your love,

a taper in a rushing wind.

Love's philosophy

The fountains mingle with the river

and the rivers with the ocean,

the winds of heaven mix for ever

with a sweet emotion

一种甜蜜的感情;

nothing in the world is single,

All things by a law devine

in one another's being mingle --

Why not I with thine?

See the mountains kiss high heaven

and the waves clasp one another

波浪也相互拥抱;

no sister-flower would be forgiven

If it disdain'd its brother

and the sunlight clasps the earth,

and the moonbeams kiss the sea -

What are all these kissings worth,

If thou kiss not me?

Love me little, love me long

Is the burden of my song?

Love that is too hot and strong

Burneth soon to waste.

Still, I would not have thee cold

Not too backward ,nor too bold

Love that lasteth till its old

Fadeth not in haste.

Love me little ,Love me long

Is the burden of my song.

If thou love me too much,

It will not prove me as true as totlch;

Love me little ,more than such,

For I fear the end.

I am with little well content,

And a little from thee sent

Is enough, with true intent

To be steadfast friend.

I loved you

Alexander Pushkin

I loved you; and perhaps I love you still,

the flame, perhaps, is not extinguished; yet

爱情, 也许在我的心灵里还没有完全消亡;

it burns so quietly within my soul,

但愿它不会再打扰你;

no longer should you feel distressed by it.

Silently and hopelessly I loved you,

at times too jealous and at times too shy.

我既忍受羞怯, 又忍受着嫉妒的折磨;

God grant you find another who will love you

as tenderly and truthfully as I.

and piles of paper that grow each day!

I think my job is really swell, there’s nothing else I love so well.

I love to work among my peers, I love their leers, and jeers, and sneers.

I hug it often though it won’t care.

I’m happy to be here. I am. I am.

I’m the happiest slave of the firm, I am.

I love this work, I love these chores.

I love the meetings with deadly bores.

I love my job——I’ll say it again

I even love those friendly men.

Those friendly men who’ve come today,

In clean white coats to take me away!!!!!

If recollecting were forgetting

If recollecting were forgetting,

then I remember not.

And if forgetting, recollecting,

how near I had forgot.

And if to miss, were merry,

and to mourn, were gay,

how very blithe the fingers

that gathered this, today!

The complaint to his empty purse

Geoffrey Chaucer

To you, my purse, and to none other wight

complain I, for ye be my lady dear !

I am so sorrow, now that ye be light;

你减轻了分量,真叫我发愁;

for certes,  but ye make me heavy cheer,

me were as leif be laid upon my bier;

免得我穷途末路,走向死亡;

for which unto your mercy thus I cry:

Be heavy again, or elles might I die !

Now voucheth safe this day, or it be night,

that i of you the blissful sound may hear,

or see your colour like the sun bright

that of yellowness had never a peer.

Ye be my life,  ye be my hertes stere,

queen of comfort an of good company:

Be heavy again, or elles might I die !

Now purse, that  be to me my life's light,

and saviour, as down in this world here,

out of this toune help me through your might,

since that ye wole not be my treasurer;

就请你送我离去这座都城;

for I am shaved as nigh as any frere.

But yet I pray unto your courtesy

be heavy again, or elles might I die !

O conqueror of brute's albion

which that by line and free election

众望所归的胜利者;

be very king,  this song to you i send;

and ye,  that mighten all our harm amend,

have mind upon my supplication !
